Getting started as a patient

1. Create your account

Go to Patient Registration and enter your name, email, phone number and a password. That is all we ask up front. Then check your inbox and click the verification link — until you do, you will not be able to sign in.

2. Find the right practitioner

  • Find a Doctor — search by name, filter by speciality, location, consultation fee and years of experience.
  • Symptom Checker — not sure which speciality you need? Describe what you are feeling and it will suggest a direction.
  • Browsing by system of medicine: Ayurvedic or Homeopathy.

3. Request an appointment

Open a practitioner's profile and request an appointment. This creates a request — the practitioner still has to accept it. Track the status under My Appointments, where you can also cancel or ask to reschedule.

4. Complete your profile (optional)

Your dashboard shows a completeness indicator. Filling it in is optional and nothing is locked behind it — but it saves repeating yourself at every visit.

5. Day to day

  • Prescriptions issued to you through the platform.
  • Messages with your practitioner.
  • Notifications for appointment status changes.
  • After a completed appointment you can leave a review — please keep it to your genuine first-hand experience.

Listing and running your practice

1. Register

Sign up at Doctor Registration with your name, email, phone and a password, then verify your email address. You build out the professional detail afterwards — registration itself is deliberately short.

2. Complete your professional profile

From your dashboard, open the profile editor and add your speciality, qualifications, registration number, clinic and hospital details, timings, consultation fee and years of experience. The dashboard shows a completeness indicator listing exactly what is still missing.

Patients filter by speciality, city, fee and experience. If those fields are blank your profile will not appear in filtered searches — completing them is the single biggest thing you can do to become findable.

3. Publish your services and pricing

Services Offered lets you list individual treatments with an optional price and short description. These appear on your public profile, so patients know what you do and what it costs before they book.

4. Manage appointments

  • Accept, decline or reschedule incoming requests from your dashboard.
  • Add clinical notes against a consultation.
  • Review your patient list, earnings summary and the reviews patients have left.
New listings may need approval before they appear publicly. If your profile is complete but still not showing in search, that is the likely reason — contact us if it stays that way.

Registering your facility

1. Register

Use Hospital Registration. You will need the hospital name, a contact number, and the administrator's name, email and password. The admin email is what you will sign in with at the hospital portal.

2. Build out the profile

From your dashboard, edit the hospital to add its type, full address, departments, facilities, bed capacity (total, ICU and general), accreditation, logo and photographs. Each hospital row shows a completeness prompt while anything essential is still missing.

3. Add services and pricing

Services & Pricing lets you publish individual services — scans, procedures, packages — each with an optional price and description.

One admin account can manage multiple hospitals or branches. Use Add Hospital from the dashboard to register another under the same login.

Vendors and managers

Pharmaceutical vendors

Register at vendor sign-up and sign in at the vendor portal. From My Account you can maintain your company details and password; from Manage Products you can add listings and track their moderation status.

Listings are informational only — NeedsDoctor is not an online pharmacy and does not sell or dispense medicines. You must hold the licences required under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and must not list anything whose advertisement is restricted. All listings are moderated.

Relationship managers

Register at manager sign-up and sign in at the manager portal. Your dashboard gives you platform-wide activity — recent doctors and hospitals, key figures, and your own profile.

Common problems

I never received the verification or reset email

  • Check your spam or junk folder, and search for "NeedsDoctor".
  • Confirm you used the right address — it must match the one on your account exactly.
  • Reset links expire and can only be used once. If yours has expired, request a new one.
  • Still nothing? Email info@needsdoctor.com and we will check.

"Too many failed attempts. Please wait 15 minutes."

Sign-in is rate limited to protect accounts against password guessing. Wait for the window to pass, then use Forgot Password rather than guessing again.

"Invalid session" or "Security check failed" when submitting a form

Your session expired, usually from leaving the page open a long time. Reload the page and submit again. If it repeats, make sure cookies are enabled — the platform cannot keep you signed in without them. See our Cookie Policy.

I'm signed in to the wrong portal

Each account type has its own sign-in page and its own session, so a doctor login will not give you a patient dashboard. Use the sign-in page that matches your account: patient, doctor, hospital, manager or vendor.

My profile is not appearing in search

  • Check your dashboard's completeness indicator — blank speciality, city or fee will keep you out of filtered results.
  • New practitioner listings may be awaiting approval.
  • Confirm your email is verified.

An appointment or record looks wrong

Contact the practitioner directly for anything clinical. For a platform problem — something not saving, a page erroring — email us with your registered address, what you did, and what you expected to happen.

The Help Centre is not for medical emergencies. If you need urgent help, dial 112 (all-India emergency) or 108 (ambulance), or go to your nearest emergency department. Messages sent through this platform are not monitored in real time.
