Overview

Tinea (ringworm) is a contagious fungal infection. Types include body (tinea corporis), scalp (tinea capitis), groin (tinea cruris), feet (tinea pedis), and nails (onychomycosis). See a clinician for scalp or nail involvement, extensive rash, diabetes, or if over-the-counter care fails.

Common Symptoms

• Itchy, red, raised, scaly patches with clearer centers (“ring” appearance).
